CEFR A1 · Beginner
Greek A1 starts with a new alphabet whose 24 letters are read exactly as written once you know them, and with the stress mark that sits on every word of more than one syllable and can change the meaning outright (πότε 'when' against ποτέ 'never'). You meet είμαι and the -ω verbs (μιλάω, μένω, θέλω), the three genders behind ο, η and το, and the accusative that reshapes the article the moment a noun becomes an object (ο καφές but θέλω τον καφέ). The vocabulary is greetings and introductions, numbers, days and telling the time, and everything you need to order in a café and ask for the bill.
