Use είμαι από plus the place, and the article after από goes into the accusative: από την Ισπανία, από τη Γερμανία. Country names keep their article in Greek, unlike English.
Examples
- Είμαι από την Ισπανία.
- I'm from Spain.
- Αυτή είναι από τη Γερμανία.
- She's from Germany.
- Μιλάω λίγα ελληνικά.
- I speak a little Greek.
The mistake to avoid
The article is not optional: από την Ισπανία, never "από Ισπανία".
Where this fits in
Greetings & introductions, Greek A1: Say hello, give your name, ask someone else's, and where they're from.
