Αυτός means "this" and εκείνος "that", and both agree with the noun. Greek keeps the definite article as well, so it is αυτός ο καφές - literally "this the coffee". To ask a price, say πόσο κάνει; for one thing and πόσο κάνουν; for several.
Examples
- Πόσο κάνει αυτό το πουκάμισο;
- How much is this shirt?
- Θα πάρω εκείνο, όχι αυτό.
- I'll take that one, not this one.
- Πόσο κάνουν αυτά τα παπούτσια;
- How much are these shoes?
The mistake to avoid
The article is required: αυτός ο καφές, never "αυτός καφές".
