Semantix is operated by Nobler Works LLC (“Semantix”, “we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what we collect when you use semantix.chat and our iOS app, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Semantix you agree to this policy.
Pronunciation and dictation practice use your device’s microphone, with your permission. Speech is transcribed by your browser’s or device’s own speech-recognition service (on iOS, Apple’s) and is subject to that provider’s privacy terms. Recorded audio is never uploaded to or stored by Semantix - we receive only the resulting text and score. Tutor audio is synthesized by Amazon Polly from the text of a lesson, not from anything you record.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your conversations or writing to train AI models.
We share personal information only with providers that help us run Semantix, under contract and only as needed:
We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that it is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where necessary to enforce our terms, investigate suspected fraud or abuse, or protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or us.
If Nobler Works LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we erase your personal data and learning records - profile, cards, conversations and messages, progress, activity, error reports, support tickets, newsletter subscription, and your referral handle - and delete your login. Some records are kept deliberately:
You can delete your account yourself from your profile at any time - it requires a code emailed to you, so that a stolen session cannot erase your data. You can also email privacy@semantix.chat to request deletion.
We use encryption in transit and at rest, managed authentication (Cognito) with short-lived session tokens, least-privilege access controls, rate limiting, point-in-time recovery and locked backups on our production database, and audit logging of administrative actions. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, our disclosure policy is at security@semantix.chat.
If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any applicable regulator as required by law and without undue delay. Our notice will describe what data was involved, what we have done about it, and the steps you can take to protect yourself.
To exercise a right we have not built a button for, email privacy@semantix.chat. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect the service; these cannot be turned off without breaking sign-in. We also set one first-party functional cookie on your first visit (sx_attr, 90 days) recording how you arrived - the page you landed on, the site that referred you, and any campaign tag in the link. It contains no identifier for you, is never sent to a third party, and exists so we can tell which channels bring people to Semantix.
Optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner. Before you choose, Google Analytics runs with storage denied - no cookies, anonymous counts only. Declining stops it loading. Either way it does not affect your use of Semantix.
Semantix may link to third-party sites - for example an article you choose to import, or a payment page. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing personal information.
Semantix is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you are in the EU/EEA, you must be at least 16 (or have parental consent) to use Semantix. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Semantix is operated from the United States and your data is processed there, including by the providers listed above. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, transfers are made under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism offered by the provider. By using the service you understand your data is processed in the United States.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request a copy of it, to request correction or deletion, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. In the past 12 months we have collected the categories described in section 1 for the purposes in section 2, and we have disclosed them only to the service providers in section 3. We have not sold or shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not do so today. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. You may use an authorized agent to make a request.
If you are in the EU/EEA/UK, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Our legal bases are:
Nobler Works LLC is the data controller. We do not carry out automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Declining the cookie banner has the same effect as a Do Not Track signal: Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics are collected about you. We also honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out where applicable law requires it.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, additional notice in the app or by email.
