Welsh puts "this" and "that" AFTER the noun, with the article still in front: y llyfr yma is "this book", y llyfr yna "that book". To ask a price, say Faint ydy hwn? or Faint ydy e?
Examples
- Faint ydy'r crys yma?
- How much is this shirt?
- Dw i eisiau'r un yna.
- I want that one.
- Faint ydy'r esgidiau?
- How much are the shoes?
The mistake to avoid
The demonstrative follows the noun and the noun keeps its y - y llyfr yma, never "yma llyfr".
