Use dod o plus the place, and o causes a soft mutation on what follows: Cymru becomes o Gymru, Caerdydd becomes o Gaerdydd. This is your first meeting with mutation, which is treated fully later in this level.
Examples
- Dw i'n dod o Gymru.
- I come from Wales.
- Mae hi'n dod o Ffrainc.
- She comes from France.
- Dw i'n dod o Gaerdydd.
- I come from Cardiff.
The mistake to avoid
The place name changes its first letter after o - it is o Gymru, not "o Cymru".
