To make a sentence negative, put ddim after the subject: Dw i ddim yn gweithio. With bod the verb itself changes too - mae becomes dydy, so Mae hi'n becomes Dydy hi ddim yn.
Examples
- Dw i ddim yn gweithio ddydd Sul.
- I don't work on Sunday.
- Dydy hi ddim yn un o'r gloch eto.
- It isn't one o'clock yet.
- Dw i ddim yn siarad Almaeneg.
- I don't speak German.
The mistake to avoid
Ddim goes after the subject, not before the verb - Dw i ddim, never "Ddim dw i".
