To say "because I/you/he did something", put -dığı/-diği (or -tığı/-tiği after a voiceless consonant) on the verb stem, add the possessive ending that shows who, then için. The reason clause comes before the main clause.
Examples
- İşimi sevdiğim için erken kalkıyorum.
- Because I love my job, I get up early.
- Toplantı uzun sürdüğü için geç kaldım.
- Because the meeting went on a long time, I was late.
- Mühendis olduğu için çok seyahat ediyor.
- Because he is an engineer, he travels a lot.
The mistake to avoid
The person is carried by the possessive ending (sevdiğim = I, sevdiği = he/she), not by a normal verb ending.
