For plans and predictions, add -ecek (after e, i, ö, ü) or -acak (after a, ı, o, u) to the stem, then the person ending; insert -y- if the stem ends in a vowel.
Examples
- Yarın İstanbul'a gideceğim.
- Tomorrow I will go to Istanbul.
- Bir gün kendi şirketimi kuracağım.
- One day I will set up my own company.
- Hafta sonu ne yapacaksın?
- What will you do at the weekend?
The mistake to avoid
Before a vowel ending the final k softens to ğ: gideceğim, not gidecekim.
