A Turkish adjective has one form only: kırmızı elbise, kırmızı elbiseler. And after a number the noun stays singular, because the number already says how many: üç gömlek, not üç gömlekler.
Examples
- Kırmızı bir gömlek arıyorum.
- I am looking for a red shirt.
- Üç çift çorap aldım.
- I bought three pairs of socks.
- Bu elbise bana çok dar.
- This dress is too tight for me.
The mistake to avoid
No plural after a number: beş kitap, never "beş kitaplar".
Where this fits in
Alışveriş, Turkish A2: Shop for clothes and food: ask to try things on, talk about sizes, colours, prices and quantities.
