Frequency words go before the verb: her zaman gelirim. For so many times per period, Turkish puts the period in the locative and the number after it: haftada bir, ayda iki. Hiç means never and needs a negative verb with it.
Examples
- Spor salonuna hiç gitmem.
- I never go to the gym.
- Ayda iki kez buluşuyoruz.
- We meet twice a month.
- Neredeyse her zaman evde kahvaltı ederim.
- I almost always have breakfast at home.
The mistake to avoid
The order is reversed from English: haftada bir, literally in a week once.
