The locative -de, -da marks a point in time: haftada, saat üçte. The ablative -den, -dan marks a starting point: sabahtan beri. After a voiceless consonant both harden to -te and -ten: saat dörtte, akşamdan.
Examples
- Geçen hafta sonu Bodrum'a gittim.
- Last weekend I went to Bodrum.
- Sabahtan beri buradayım.
- I have been here since morning.
- Saat üçte müzeye gittik.
- At three o'clock we went to the museum.
The mistake to avoid
After ç, f, h, k, p, s, ş or t the ending hardens: saat dörtte, not "dörtde".
Where this fits in
Geçen hafta sonu, Turkish A2: Talk about the past: yesterday, last weekend, and travel memories.
