Romanian A1 gives you the sounds and the skeleton: the vowels ă, â and î, the verbs a fi and a avea, and the first surprise - the definite article is a suffix glued to the end of the noun (copil, copilul; casă, casa). You learn to greet, introduce yourself, count, tell the time and order food, and you meet the three genders, including the neuter that behaves like a masculine noun in the singular and a feminine one in the plural.
