Romanian verbs fall into four groups by their infinitive ending - -a, -ea, -e and -i. The largest is the -a group: drop the -a and add -, -i, -ă, -ăm, -ați, -ă. The I-form is often the bare stem, so a lucra gives lucrez-type or lucru-type forms depending on the verb.
Examples
- Vorbesc română și puțin engleză.
- I speak Romanian and a little English.
- Unde lucrezi?
- Where do you work?
- Învățăm împreună marțea.
- We study together on Tuesdays.
The mistake to avoid
The he/she form and the they form are identical in most verbs - only context tells them apart.
