Put nu directly before the verb. Romanian keeps the double negative, so nu … nimic and nu … niciodată are correct and the nu cannot be dropped. Nu is also the word for "no" on its own.

- Nu, nu vorbesc germană.
- No, I don't speak German.
The mistake to avoid
"Văd nimic" is wrong - it must be nu văd nimic, with both halves.
