Ten, ta, to mean "this" and match the noun's gender; tamten, tamta, tamto mean "that one over there". To ask a price, say Ile to kosztuje? for one thing and Ile kosztują? for several.
Examples
- Ile kosztuje ta koszula?
- How much is this shirt?
- Wezmę tamten, nie ten.
- I'll take that one, not this one.
- Ile kosztują te buty?
- How much are these shoes?
The mistake to avoid
To on its own means "this is" - To jest kawa and To kawa are both correct.
