Polish plural endings depend on gender. Feminine and neuter nouns usually take -y, -i or -a; masculine nouns take -y or -i, and masculine words for PEOPLE take a special set of their own. The ending often changes the consonant before it too.
Examples

- I have two brothers and three sisters.
- Hotele są pełne.
- The hotels are full.
- Poproszę dwie kawy.
- Two coffees, please.
