Greek suggests with the plain first person plural ("Πάμε σινεμά;") or with να + the subjunctive ("Να πάμε σινεμά;"), which is a little softer. Both are questions in form; the verb comes first and does the work of English "shall we".
Examples
- Πάμε σινεμά το Σάββατο;
- Shall we go to the cinema on Saturday?
- Να ξεκινήσουμε καλύτερα αύριο.
- Let's start tomorrow instead.
- Τι λες για έναν καφέ μετά τη δουλειά;
- What do you say to a coffee after work?
The mistake to avoid
Greek has no separate "let's" word: the person ending carries it. Adding ας is possible (ας πάμε) but sounds bookish in everyday speech.
Where this fits in
Σχέδια και ραντεβού, Greek A2: Να προτείνουμε κάτι, να κλείσουμε και να αλλάξουμε ένα ραντεβού και να μιλήσουμε για τον καιρό που αλλάζει τα σχέδια.
