Almost every Greek preposition is followed by the accusative. Σε merges with the article into one word: σε plus τον gives στον, σε plus την gives στη, σε plus το gives στο. The same happens in the plural: στους, στις, στα.
Examples
- I go to work at eight.
- At midday I eat at the office.
- I leave the house early.
The mistake to avoid
Σε is never written separately before an article - it always merges.
