For habits and routines, take the verb stem and add the present endings -ω, -εις, -ει, -ουμε, -ετε, -ουν. Greek has one present tense that covers both "I work" and "I am working", so there is no separate continuous form.
Examples
- Δουλεύω κάθε μέρα από τις εννιά.
- I work every day from nine.
- Η Άννα δουλεύει από το σπίτι.
- Anna works from home.
- Ξυπνάμε νωρίς και πίνουμε καφέ.
- We wake up early and drink coffee.
The mistake to avoid
There is no Greek equivalent of "am/is + -ing" — never build a routine sentence with είμαι plus another verb.
