Greek compares with πιο plus the adjective plus από: πιο ακριβό από. Many adjectives also have a one-word form ending in -τερος: μεγαλύτερος. For the superlative, add the article: ο πιο ακριβός, ο μεγαλύτερος.
Examples
- Αυτό είναι πιο ακριβό από το άλλο.
- This one is more expensive than the other.
- Ποιο είναι το φθηνότερο;
- Which one is the cheapest?
- Το κόκκινο μου αρέσει περισσότερο.
- I like the red one more.
The mistake to avoid
Never combine both forms: πιο μεγάλος or μεγαλύτερος, not "πιο μεγαλύτερος".
