The future uses future forms of 'bod' plus 'yn'/''n' plus the verb-noun: 'bydda i' (I will be), 'byddi di', 'bydd e/hi', 'byddwn ni'. For questions drop to 'fydda i?' and answer with 'bydda' (yes) or 'na fydda' (no) — Welsh has no single word for yes.
Examples
- Bydda i'n mynd i Gaerdydd yfory.
- I'll go to Cardiff tomorrow.
- Fyddi di'n dod i'r cyfarfod? Bydda.
- Will you come to the meeting? Yes.
- Bydd hi'n dechrau'r cwrs ym mis Medi.
- She'll start the course in September.
The mistake to avoid
Answering a 'fyddi di?' question with 'ie' — you must echo the verb: 'bydda' or 'na fydda'.
