Welsh joins two nouns by simply placing them together, and the article goes with the second one: clawr y llyfr, diwedd y ffilm. The first noun never takes y. To say my or your, use fy, dy or ei before the noun, each with its own mutation.
Examples
- Dw i'n hoffi clawr y llyfr.
- I like the cover of the book.
- Roedd cerddoriaeth y ffilm yn wych.
- The music of the film was great.
- Dyma fy hoff gân i.
- This is my favourite song.
The mistake to avoid
Only one y is allowed, and it goes with the second noun.
