Short Welsh adjectives compare with -ach plus na: rhatach na, gwell na. Longer ones use mwy plus the adjective plus na. For the most, short ones take -af and long ones take mwyaf. Da and drwg are irregular: gwell and gwaeth.
Examples
- Mae'r llyfr yn well na'r ffilm.
- The book is better than the film.
- Mae hwn yn rhatach na'r llall.
- This one is cheaper than the other.
- Beth yw'r mwyaf diddorol?
- Which is the most interesting?
The mistake to avoid
Na causes an aspirate mutation: gwell na chi, not "gwell na ci".
