Welsh has a short future built onto the verb itself: trefna i, gwna i, af i. It is often introduced by the particle fe or mi, which causes a soft mutation: fe drefnwn ni. The particle adds no meaning and can be left out.
Examples
- Peidiwch â phoeni, fe drefnwn ni hynny.
- Do not worry, we will arrange that.
- Wna i edrych arno yfory.
- I will look at it tomorrow.
- Fe siaradwn ni â'r rheolwr.
- We will speak to the manager.
The mistake to avoid
Fe and mi both cause the soft mutation: fe drefnwn, from trefnwn.
