Dylwn i means I should and is followed straight by the verb-noun with a soft mutation: dylwn i fwyta. For needing, Welsh uses mae angen plus the verb-noun plus i and the person: mae angen i fi gysgu.
Examples
- Dylwn i fwyta mwy o ffrwythau.
- I should eat more fruit.
- Mae angen i fi gerdded bob dydd.
- I need to walk every day.
- Dylet ti yfed mwy o ddŵr.
- You should drink more water.
The mistake to avoid
Dylwn i causes a soft mutation: dylwn i fwyta, not "dylwn i bwyta".
