Welsh suggests with Beth am + verb-noun ("Beth am fynd i'r sinema?"), which softly mutates the verb-noun, or with Gawn ni + verb-noun ("Gawn ni ddechrau yfory?"). Both are far more common than a literal "gadewch i ni", which sounds formal.
Examples
- Beth am fynd i'r sinema ddydd Sadwrn?
- How about going to the cinema on Saturday?
- Gawn ni ddechrau yfory yn lle hynny?
- Can we start tomorrow instead?
- Beth am baned ar ôl gwaith?
- How about a cuppa after work?
The mistake to avoid
Beth am triggers the soft mutation on what follows: mynd becomes fynd, paned becomes baned. Leaving the word unmutated is the clearest learner marker.
