Welsh forms the future with bydd plus a subject plus yn: bydda i'n mynd, byddi di'n, bydd e'n, byddwn ni'n. There is also a short form built on the verb itself, such as af i and gwnaf i, used for a firm intention.
Examples
- Bydda i'n mynd i'r sinema ddydd Sadwrn.
- I will go to the cinema on Saturday.
- Byddwn ni'n cwrdd am saith.
- We will meet at seven.
- Beth fyddi di'n wneud y penwythnos yma?
- What will you be doing this weekend?
The mistake to avoid
The yn is required before the verb-noun: bydda i'n mynd, not "bydda i mynd".
