Swedish has no future tense. Use ska + infinitive for something you have decided or intend, and kommer att + infinitive for a prediction you don't control. For hypothetical wishes and om-sentences, use skulle + infinitive.
Examples
- Jag ska börja ett nytt jobb i höst.
- I'm going to start a new job in the autumn.
- Det kommer att regna imorgon.
- It's going to rain tomorrow.
- Om jag hade mer tid skulle jag resa mer.
- If I had more time I would travel more.
- Jag skulle vilja bo utomlands ett år.
- I'd like to live abroad for a year.
The mistake to avoid
Adding att after ska (*jag ska att åka) - ska takes the bare infinitive; only kommer needs att.
