A yes/no question puts the verb at the front and the subject straight after: Talar du engelska? For anything else, begin with a question word - vem, vad, var, när, hur, varför - and the verb follows it.
Examples
- Talar du engelska?
- Do you speak English?
- Vad heter du?
- What is your name?
- Var bor du?
- Where do you live?
The mistake to avoid
Var means "where" and vart means "where to" - the second is for movement.
