Swedish picks the form from the noun's gender and number: någon with an en-word, något with an ett-word, and några in the plural. The same three cover English "some", "any" and "a" in questions and negatives.
Examples
- Har du någon fråga?
- Do you have a question?
- Vill du ha något att dricka?
- Would you like something to drink?
- Vi har några äpplen kvar.
- We have a few apples left.
The mistake to avoid
Något is also the everyday word for "something" on its own, with no noun after it.
Where this fits in
Food & ordering, Swedish A1: Order at a café or restaurant, ask for the bill, and talk about basic food and drink.
