In a Swedish statement the verb must be the SECOND element in the sentence. If you start with a time expression instead of the subject, the subject moves to just after the verb: Imorgon åker jag, not Imorgon jag åker.
Examples
- Imorgon åker jag till Göteborg.
- Tomorrow I'm going to Gothenburg.
- Klockan sju börjar filmen.
- The film starts at seven o'clock.
- På måndag har vi ingen lektion.
- On Monday we have no lesson.
- Nu är klockan halv tre.
- It's half past two now.
The mistake to avoid
Keeping English order after a fronted time phrase (*Imorgon jag åker) - swapping the subject and verb is not optional.
Where this fits in
Numbers, days, time, Swedish A1: Count, talk about days and months, give the time, and handle numbers in real situations.
