Romanian suggests things with the plain present tense - Ne vedem vineri? is literally "do we see each other Friday?" and works as an invitation. Hai să + subjunctive is the everyday "let's", and De ce nu + present softens a proposal into a question. You answer with sigur, îmi convine, or îmi pare rău, nu pot.

The mistake to avoid
After hai să the verb takes the subjunctive form - "hai să mergem", never "hai mergem".
