Once the thing is known, Romanian replaces it with îl, o, îi or le before the verb. In the past, o moves after the verb and attaches: am rezervat-o. When the object is a specific person, Romanian also marks it with pe and doubles it with the pronoun.
Examples
- Camera? Am rezervat-o ieri.
- The room? I booked it yesterday.
- Micul dejun este inclus, îl luăm la ora șapte.
- Breakfast is included, we have it at seven.
- Cheile le las la recepție.
- I am leaving the keys at reception.
The mistake to avoid
Only the feminine singular o hooks onto the end of a past verb; the others stay in front.
