A day takes -na or -nä: maanantaina means "on Monday". A month takes -ssa or -ssä: toukokuussa is "in May". A clock time uses kello. Days and months are written in lower case.
Examples
- Keskiviikkona minulla on tunti.
- On Wednesday I have a class.
- Huhtikuussa menen Wieniin.
- In April I'm going to Vienna.
- Tavataan kello kahdeksan.
- Let's meet at eight o'clock.
The mistake to avoid
The endings follow vowel harmony too: maanantaina but perjantaina, torstaina but keskiviikkona.
