Many routine verbs take a pronoun that points back at the subject: em, et, es, ens, us, es. The pronoun goes right before the conjugated verb, and it shortens to m', t', s' before a vowel.
Examples
- Em llevo a les set cada dia.
- I get up at seven every day.
- Es dutxa i després esmorza.
- He showers and then has breakfast.
- Ens llevem tard els diumenges.
- We get up late on Sundays.
- M'adormo molt aviat.
- I fall asleep very early.
The mistake to avoid
Don't leave the pronoun out — llevo alone means "I lift (something)", not "I get up".
