To ask about a whole life, Swedish uses har plus någonsin plus the supine. The answer for never is aldrig, and like other adverbs it sits after the conjugated verb: jag har aldrig smakat. The supine stays at the end.
Examples
- Har du någonsin varit i Finland?
- Have you ever been to Finland?
- Jag har aldrig smakat surströmming.
- I have never tasted surströmming.
- Vi har besökt det museet förut.
- We have visited that museum before.
The mistake to avoid
Aldrig comes before the supine: har aldrig smakat, not "har smakat aldrig".
Where this fits in
Talking about the past, Swedish A2: Tell stories about yesterday, last weekend, and life experiences using the preteritum (simple past).
