Swedish suggests with Ska vi + infinitive ("Ska vi gå på bio?"), with Vi kan väl + infinitive, or with Låt oss + infinitive, which is the most formal of the three. Note that ska here is an invitation, not the future.
Examples
- Ska vi gå på bio på lördag?
- Shall we go to the cinema on Saturday?
- Vi kan väl börja i morgon i stället.
- Let's start tomorrow instead.
- Vad sägs om en kaffe efter jobbet?
- How about a coffee after work?
The mistake to avoid
Väl is the softener that turns a statement into a suggestion. Drop it and "vi kan börja i morgon" becomes a plain statement of fact.
