Going to a person or a place uses do plus the genitive: idę do lekarza, do apteki. The person something is given or prescribed to goes into the dative: lekarz mi przepisał. Dative pronouns are mi, ci, mu, jej, nam.
Examples
- Jutro idę do lekarza.
- Tomorrow I am going to the doctor.
- Lekarz przepisał mi tabletki.
- The doctor prescribed me tablets.
- Farmaceuta polecił nam ten syrop.
- The pharmacist recommended this syrup to us.
The mistake to avoid
Do always takes the genitive: do apteki, not "do apteka".
