Irish forms the future by adding -faidh to a broad verb stem and -fidh to a slender one: molfaidh, cuirfidh. The first person plural has its own ending, -faimid or -fimid, so no pronoun is needed: rachaimid.
Examples
- Rachaidh mé go dtí an phictiúrlann Dé Sathairn.
- I will go to the cinema on Saturday.
- Cuirfidh mé glaoch ort amárach.
- I will call you tomorrow.
- Céard a dhéanfaidh tú ag an deireadh seachtaine?
- What will you do at the weekend?
The mistake to avoid
The stem's last vowel decides the ending: broad with broad, slender with slender.
