Irish usually keeps the pronoun separate, but the first person plural is different: the ending -imid or -aimid already means we, so no pronoun follows. Réiteoimid é, déanaimid, beimid. The object pronoun é or í then comes at the end.
Examples
- Ná bí buartha, réiteoimid é.
- Do not worry, we will sort it out.
- Cuirfimid ceart é amárach.
- We will put it right tomorrow.
- Feicfimid an bainisteoir faoi.
- We will see the manager about it.
The mistake to avoid
Never add muid to this ending: réiteoimid, not "réiteoimid muid".
Where this fits in
Guthán, Teachtaireachtaí agus Fadhbanna Beaga, Irish Gaelic A2: Glaoch agus scríobh, leithscéal a ghabháil, míthuiscint a réiteach agus cabhair a iarraidh - an saol laethúil nuair nach dtéann rud de réir an phlean.
