Irish fuses a preposition with its pronoun into one word. Ag gives agam, agat, aige, aici. Ar gives orm, ort, air, uirthi. Le gives liom, leat, leis, léi. Do gives dom, duit, dó, di. These carry possession, feeling and much else.
Examples
- Tá tinneas cinn orm inniu.
- I have a headache today.
- Tá carr nua aici.
- She has a new car.
- Thug sé an t-airgead dom.
- He gave me the money.
The mistake to avoid
There is no separate word for me here - it is fused into the preposition.
