Irish suggests with Cad faoi + verbal noun ("Cad faoi dul go dtí an phictiúrlann?") or with the first person plural imperative, which ends in -aimis / -imis: téimis, tosaímis, ólaimis. The imperative form is short and very common in speech.
Examples
- Cad faoi dul go dtí an phictiúrlann Dé Sathairn?
- How about going to the cinema on Saturday?
- Tosaímis amárach in áit inniu.
- Let's start tomorrow instead of today.
- Cad faoi chupán caife tar éis na hoibre?
- How about a cup of coffee after work?
The mistake to avoid
Cad faoi is followed by the verbal noun, not a finite verb: "Cad faoi dul" (about going), never "Cad faoi téimid".
