The two commonest verbs are irregular but simple, because Danish verbs do not change for person: har covers I/you/he/we/they, and er does the same. Their infinitives are at have and at være.
Examples
- Jeg har bestilt et bord.
- I've booked a table.
- Har I brød?
- Do you have any bread?
- Maden er meget god.
- The food is very good.
The mistake to avoid
One form fits every person - har and er never take an ending.
Where this fits in
Food & ordering, Danish A1: Order at a café or restaurant, ask for the bill, and talk about basic food and drink.
