For a yes/no question, put the verb at the front and the subject straight after: Taler du engelsk? For anything else, begin with a question word - hvem, hvad, hvor, hvornår, hvordan, hvorfor - and the verb follows it.
Examples
- Taler du engelsk?
- Do you speak English?
- Hvad hedder du?
- What is your name?
- Hvor bor du?
- Where do you live?
The mistake to avoid
Danish has no "do" in questions - the verb itself moves to the front.
Where this fits in
Greetings & introductions, Danish A1: Say hello, give your name, ask someone else's, and where they're from.
