Use en to replace a phrase with de (a topic, or a quantity of something), and hi to replace a place or a phrase with a/en. Both sit in front of the conjugated verb and are obligatory, even though English leaves them unsaid.
Examples
- Parles molt de la teva família? — Sí, en parlo molt.
- Do you talk a lot about your family? — Yes, I talk about it a lot.
- Tens temps per pensar-hi? — No, no en tinc.
- Do you have time to think about it? — No, I don't have any.
- Vas sovint al poble? — Hi vaig cada estiu.
- Do you often go to the village? — I go there every summer.
- És una etapa difícil, però ja m'hi he acostumat.

The mistake to avoid
Don't drop them: *No tinc* for "I don't have any" is wrong — you need No en tinc.
