A nationality is an adjective and agrees with the person: català / catalana / catalans / catalanes. Ones ending in a consonant add -a for the feminine. They are written in lower case, unlike the country name.
Examples
- Sóc català, de Girona.
- I'm Catalan, from Girona.
- Ella és anglesa i jo sóc alemany.
- She is English and I am German.
- Som italians.
- We are Italian.
The mistake to avoid
Catalunya keeps its capital; català does not.
