Querer (to want) breaks its stem: quiero, quieres, quiere, queremos, quieren - the e becomes ie everywhere except nosotros. Follow it with a thing you want or with another verb in its dictionary form.
Examples
- Quiero un café con leche.
- I want a coffee with milk.
- ¿Qué quieres beber?
- What do you want to drink?
- Queremos la cuenta, por favor.
- We'd like the bill, please.
The mistake to avoid
Nosotros keeps the plain e: it's queremos, never "queiremos".
Where this fits in
