Russian verbs follow one of two ending sets. The first has -ю/-у, -ешь, -ет, -ем, -ете, -ют/-ут; the second has -ю/-у, -ишь, -ит, -им, -ите, -ят/-ат. Which one a verb uses is part of the word, so learn a verb by its ты form.
Examples
- Я работаю в банке.
- I work at a bank.
- Ты говоришь очень быстро.
- You speak very fast.
- Мы живём в Москве.
- We live in Moscow.
The mistake to avoid
Работаешь and говоришь differ by one vowel and that vowel is the whole conjugation.
