Russian needs no extra word and no change of word order for a yes/no question - intonation alone does it, rising sharply on the word being asked about. For anything else, open with кто, что, где, когда, как, почему or сколько.
Examples
- Ты говоришь по-английски?
- Do you speak English?
- Как тебя зовут?
- What is your name?
- Где ты живёшь?
- Where do you live?
The mistake to avoid
There is no "do" and no inversion - the written question looks exactly like the statement.
Where this fits in
Greetings & introductions, Russian A1: Say hello, give your name, ask someone else's, and where they're from.
